Steven Mandala

EVP of Advertising and Sales at Univision Communications, Inc.

Steve Mandala is executive vice president of Advertising Sales for Univision Communications Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America. In this role, he oversees the Company’s Business Development, Digital, Sports, Direct Response and AdSales Marketing groups, as well as the sales team for the El Rey Network.

Mr. Mandala, who served as Univision’s vice president/West Coast Network Sales from 1992 to 1997, rejoined the company in October 2012. He came to Univision after spending 15 years in various leadership roles at NBCUniversal and Telemundo.

From 2007 to 2012, he served as executive vice president/Cable Entertainment Ad Sales at NBCU. In that capacity, he led a team of more than 200 marketing and selling professionals working on seven different networks that generated in excess of $2 billion in revenue per year. He built strategic plans that delivered 56 percent growth in those five years, outperforming every market benchmark. He was also a key component in the integration of the acquisition of Oxygen to the NBCU family and the NBCU/Comcast integration process.

From 1999-2007, Mr. Mandala served as senior vice president/Telemundo Network Sales and Marketing and Affiliate Relations. His leadership helped the network grow sales by over 50 percent and he was responsible for sales of all national media for the company, including Telemundo, mun2, telemundo.com, and holamun2.com.

Mr. Mandala’s television sales career started in 1990 when he joined Telemundo’s KVEA-52 affiliate in Los Angeles as general sales manager.

A graduate from the University of Southern California’s School of Business Administration, Mr. Mandala was named the Hispanic Media Executive of the Year in 2004.
