Director of Digital Marketing at Freshpet
As Director of Digital Marketing at Freshpet, Katie Tyson is responsible for the brand’s digital communications. In 2014, she set out to prove the value of digital marketing as part of the company’s marketing mix, and developed Freshpet’s first major digital marketing strategy. That year, digital contributed to spikes in brand awareness and sales, and drove a 4500% increase in brand engagement. In partnership with Shareability, she spearheaded digital content with two successful Viral videos, driving mass awareness and purchase intent for the brand. To date, the videos have amassed over 37mm views, most of which were organic.
Katie began her career in advertising, working at McCann Erickson and Saatchi & Saatchi. Prior to joining Freshpet, she ran social for four CPG brands as an Account Supervisor at Vaynermedia. Katie has a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and is currently studying mentorship and coaching under Jeannine Yoder. When she is not ‘nerding out’ over digital marketing, she enjoys live music, meditation, and writing about both on her blog.
