Andy Marks is Managing Director of MATTER, Inc., an entertainment, sports and experiential marketing agency and a member of the Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc. family of companies. Andy joined Edelman when it acquired MATTER, a leading branded entertainment consultancy he co-founded.

He has created entertainment marketing strategies, and award winning branded content for such clients as Van Heusen, Brita, Clorox, Johnson & Johnson, Anvil Knitwear (2011 Silver W3 Award for short film “A Message from Earth”), Norton, Dove, Pepsi, GlaxoSmithKline, Feel Rich (Quincy D. Jones III), AstraZeneca (2012 Bronze Telly Award for web series “Smart Moves” for Vimovo), and Amtrak. He has placed a number of clients in TV programming partnerships including with “The Biggest Loser,” “Top Chef,” “Project Runway,” and “The X Factor. He has worked with other best-in-class TV, film and digital partners such as Sundance Channel, Scripps, NBCUniversal, Bravo, Once a Frog Productions (Jonathan Prince), Magical Elves, FunnyorDie.com, Yahoo!, Reveille, Sundance Film Festival, and Tribeca Institute.

His most recent projects exemplify the spectrum of ground breaking work from MATTER. He partnered client Norton by Symantec with CSI-creator Anthony Zuiker’s Dare to Pass, CAA and Dolphin Entertainment to produce “Cybergeddon,” a ground breaking 90-minute cyber-crime thriller distributed globally (40 countries, 10 languages) on Yahoo! and a host of other digital media platforms. He has also partnered Van Heusen with FunnyorDie.com to produce “Life Coordinators” a scripted short film and multiplatform brand campaign featuring NFL legends Steve Young and Jerry Rice, and Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford making their acting debut. The campaign launched on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” this past fall. And for Activision, MATTER, in partnership with Edelman Digital created the about-to-be launched 13 part web series “Skylanders Boomcast,” which provides an insider view for fans of the hugely successful Skylanders game franchise.

Before co-founding MATTER, Andy served as EVP of brand partnerships at Hypnotic, a multi-media production company backed by Universal Pictures, launching pioneering branded entertainment programs including Reebok’s Cannes Lion award-winning “Terry Tate, Office Linebacker,” and the Chrysler Million Dollar Film Festival. Prior to that he was Director of Sales and Sponsorships at the Hollywood Stock Exchange.

Andy is a thought leader in branded entertainment, entertainment marketing, and social media’s impact on entertainment and content, and a frequent speaker at such industry forums as NATPE, Digital Hollywood, and Advertising Week. He is a member of the board of advisors for the Hollywood Advertising Upfronts.

He holds a B.A. in geology and environmental studies from Colgate University and resides in New York City with wife Nanette and their two children.
